Review - Nike Contact FS

Picture taken from Al-Ikhsan.com and prodirectsoccer.com

Another Futsal 5 Nike Shoe line. Ive tried to search in the internet for the lime green colourway, but i found another colourway, which is gold, and maybe will never arrive here in Malaysia.

This is the prodirectsoccer.com review of the shoe:
"With the quality rising in both pitch and players Nike now release a range of footwear that meet these changing requirements. The footwear is designed to be agile and strong and to meet every challenge the game has to offer.
This new release is made from a combination of a synthetic Nubuck and mesh. The Gum rubber outsole provides maximum traction and playing stability."

I have bought this shoe (white/lime green)and it has been worthwhile. It' quite pricey at RM 200, but well worth my money spent. This shoe is light weight, and like the Nike Air Zoom Control, has ample cushioning, which i absolutely love.

The downside, its white, so its a no brainer that it will easily get dirty, as compared to buying the traditional ever trusted black colour. Its costly..at RM200, you can get 2 pairs of decent futsal shoes, but of course, not with the features. And yes, i have been teased by my friends because of its "appealness".Huhuhu.

Review - Nike Air Zoom Control II

Picture taken from kitbag.com

The futsal footwear is getting better. Introducing the new futsal nike 5 gear, Nike Air Zoom Control II. "Wow", would be the initial remark, looking at its colourway options. Bright lime green?! is the only options currently available here in Malaysia, be it in the nike official stores on other famous stores such as Al Ikhsan. The photo blue/white/black colourway has yet to arrive...or will it? God knows. But both screams "look at me".

Looks aside, they are very comfortable to wear. Below are the specifics, as described in wegotsoccer.com:

Upper:
Lightweight KNG-75 with textured ball control coating with asymmetrical lacing. External heel counter and TPU overinjected frame.
Midsole:
New EVA/Phylon sockliner with Poron foam inserts for low-profile comfort. Zoom Air unit in the heel provides optimal cushioning.
Outsole:
New combination-length rubber studs for optimal traction and 360 degree ball control.
Profile:
Performance-level shoe with new NikeFive zonal construction provides optimal touch, flexibility, and traction for artificial surfaces.

In short, they've succesfully combined both comfort and performance. One feature that in my opinion, stands out, is its optimal cushioning. Its so snug fit and comfy. Because of this feature, expect to wear(if you buy one) a full or half size bigger than you normally wear. Also expect to spend big to wear these killers as they cost a good RM 300.A hefty price for a futsal shoe.

The soles are also to be noted as it give great grip, traction, making it great to play on any surface be it on the parquet or turf.

Those who dares to mix it up fashion wise, could also 'fully optimize' the lime green colourway as it would make a great fashion statement.Huhuhu. The Ronaldins, falcao's or robinho's wannabes with fast fancy stepovers would create a blurry lime green effect if they wear this shoe....which is most probably why Nike came up with the shoes colourway.

Real life expreince: My friend bought this shoe.Color:Lime green. True enough, its very comfortable. But he had to endure our wrath of making fun of his shoe! Hahaha. We even let him dribble the ball unguarded, teasing that he gave a glaring effect, that we couldnt see the ball!!hahaha...

Pros: Great performance shoe. Cons: Expensive, and if have friends like mine, be ready to be poked at.huhuhu.

Review-Sports Planet Ampang

Ampang Sports Planet was one of the pioneers that pushed futsal in Malaysia to a new level. Great facilities to hold futsal, badminton and takraw events. For futsal, it has 8 turf courts and 1 international size parquet court. Wow. A true 'international' experience.

For the international experience comes with a cost - around rm200 per hour if u play at night. The turf court cost around RM100. Both surface are well maintained. I had a company futsal tourney (previos blog posts) held here - and it was a succesfull event. Their staff where friendly and profesional in helping us organizing our futsal competetion events.

I'm currently using nike futsal shoes (with spike turf studs soles.). Works great on the turf surface, but damn slippery on parquet. Recommend to use futsal shoes with flat soles.

Good ventilation, tv's, lounge, food and beverages, are among other facilities make it a great place to futsal.

Setbacks? None of the negative type. This place is like the malaysia mecca of futsal that u actually have to book - sometimes - 2 weeks in advance to play. To get the ideal time (9pm - 12 pm) at the last minute is imposible. There are even those who book courts for the whole year for a particular day - say every satuday evenings. So plan ahead to play at this venue.

Parking facilities? never enuf in, during peak periods (week end evenings, public holidays).Come early to get a spot.

Their public Toilets? Maintained quite good with shower facilties. If KLCC's public toilet is your 10/10 benchmark - then theirs is rated around 7 to 8.

In short, as their motto goes, they provide the "ultimate" futsal experince.

Review - ISF - Indoor Sports Federation

A great all in one sports complex. You can play futsal, badminton, snooker, takraw, ping pong and netball.Smua ada.Naseb baik takde guli, congkak, monopoly etc. Point is, an all in one sports complex. Wish it had basketball!

Futsal/indoor soccer players wont have dehydration problems since ISF has a great offer, free 5 bottles(!!) of mineral water for every hour of play. Wow. Talk about saving your money. U can even cancel your usual mamak outings after playing futsal.huhuhu.

You can choose 2 surface to play on, the grass turf, or the smooth blue-coloured decoflex turf. The grass turf cost around rm100 per hour, while the latter cost around rm120 per hour. Both surfaces are in good maintaince.

Will you have parking problems? To date, personally..no problems. Although there arent that may parking spaces inside its compund, but u can park your car at the roadsides outside, as it is fairly safe to do so.It is not a main road so theres no congestion. But i always put the steering lock on. Better safe than sorry.

The downside to this venue is during rainy seasons. It seems there is a roof leakages to this venue(as to date)! Courts affected? The decoflex surface, and a few grass turf courts. Hope they patch their roofs soon. Not quite the 'indoor experience' imagined.

Despite this setback, ISF is known to have successfully organized great competitions, get-togethers and family events( not in the rainy season i assume..huhu).Still room for improvement.

Review - Subang Sports Planet.

Subang Sports PLanet-The Ultimate Indoor Soccer Experience...as their motto goes.Hard to deny. They provide great facilities, 11 indoor futsal Courts! Massive facility.Great condition which is maintained regurlarly. Who wants to play on a patchy, uneven, run down turf anyways?

They even provide foosball tables!!and to add to their franchise, a snooker facility is also available. Really pushing for the "inddor experience".

The downside to this Sports Planet FUTSAL facility is their parking. On peak hours, pray for a spot.a miracle might happen. Sometimes you have to park outside, though not far, *but quite risky-open to thefts or any accidents. Come early for a cozy convinient spot.

All n all, a great spot for futsal.RM100 peak hours.RM 70 on normal hours. Bring along friends, chip in together, and well worth your money spent.

NIke air zoom control 2.
NIke first team touch 2.

These are the new shoes....nike 5. Love the middle one. Currently in malaysian stores are the top model and a yelowish green colorway...wooaa...disco attention-like,not that nice, but very, very comfortable.

Comfort to the feet, less comforting to the pocket. huhu.Malaysians need to fork out more or less RM 250 for these killers.

Yes, we IT nerdoramas do sweat. This years futsal fiesta(early january), was won by...us...."Global Solutionals",with the exception of the ever so steady keeper, edi, from networks. We...are the champions ..my friends. The total underdogs, of the underdogs, underwear, and down under.

We jelled as a team, no outstanding zidanes or deco's in our team, but great team spirit, determination, tactics n man management by andy rossi. The Networks team were firm favourites, but we showed our belang tarungs, and out-haka danced them to glory. Sweeeet.

Killer Lineup: Madeq(Stopper) , Pyan henry, ad (serbabolih), cicak(serba dasyat), Afnan(pencacai),gjoe (van persie top scorcher) and manager cum player, andy ferguson.
